Mind you, I thought the whole thing was beyond idiotic given the age of the game and the size of the player base but what do I know. And even though we weren't fully spell powered up, it was taking way too long to kill EVERYthing. We quickly realized it wasn't going to be a cakewalk, as random scorpions in Claw were hitting for 150, non champs. But we figured, hey we're capped and running low epics, should be fine.
But we did have mostly lv 29 named gear, with a few weird slots that we didn't have anything better in the bank handy. These were by no means our best guys, maybe 2-3 past lives, 1-2 epic past lives, and didn't have endgame gear. He was on his lv 30 air sorc, I was on my lv 30 pale master wiz (ench/necro focused). I was helping my friend hunt some epic elite red fens gear/mats. But after last night I see that's totally not the case.
